Enabling Active Content & Previewing Theme Pages in Internet Explorer

Most web browsers will run scripts & active content on local web pages and preview theme pages straight away.  Internet Explorer requires a setting change to avoid displaying a blocked content message.

Note that this only affects local pages stored on your hard drive.  Visitors to your published site online will not encounter this message.

To change the setting...

  • Start Internet Explorer, and select Tools->Internet Options to open the Internet Options dialog.
  • Switch to the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security section.
  • Tick the option Allow active content to run in files on My Computer.
